Dutch soprano Gabrielle Mouhlen is a Lirico Spinto with a versatile repertoire that include including operatic roles as well as concert repertoire. Her powerful voice and warm, personal tone, combined with exeptional dramatic acting talent, make her a highly regarded artist on international stages.
Her most frequently sung roles are Norma, Abigaille (Nabucco), Tosca, Aida, Turandot, Lady MacBeth, Santuzza (Cavaleria Rusticana) and Minnie in La Fanciulla del West.
Her collaboration with the world-renowned conductor Riccardo Muti in 2021, who invited her to sing the role of Abigaille in Milan and at the Ravenna Festival, is one of her many highlights.
From 2018 to 2021 she was the soprano in the ensemble of the Aalto Musiktheater in Essen, Germany, where she sang leading roles in Aida, Tosca, Nabucco, Pique Dame and Otello, among others.
Gabrielle continued her career with several debuts, including Lady MacBeth and Turandot, Santuzza in Cavaleria Rusticana in Ente de Carolis in Sassari, Italy and Minnie in La Fanciulla del West at the National Romanian Opera Theatre in Cluj. At the Taormina Opera Festival she sang the role of Turandot and after the summer she returned to Sassari, where she performed the role of Lady MacBeth with great succes.
She recently sang a new production of La Fanciulla del West at the Croatian National Opera Theatre Ivan Zajc in Rijeka and returned as Abigaille in Nabucco at the Nuremberg Staatstheater. She will perform the same role at the HNK National Theatre in Zagreb in 2026.
She was also a guest at Opéra de Nice Côte d’Azur (Grand Gala de Prestige), Opernhaus Dortmund (Nabucco), Theater Koblenz (Nabucco), Domstufen Festival Erfurt (Nabucco), Theater Magdeburg (Otello), Teatro Reggio di Torino (Elisir d’amore) , Teatro dal Verme Milano (Gran Gala), Festival Luglio Trapanese (Turandot), Festival di Pesaro (Trovatore), Teatro Verdi di Trieste (MacBeth/Turandot), Teatro Marrucino di Chieti (Tosca), Auditorium de Doelen (Nabucco), National Theater Brno, Czech Republic (Aida), National Macedonian Theater Skopje (Turandot), National Romanian Opera Timisoara (Traviata), Concertgebouw Amsterdam (Verdi Requiem), HNK National Croatian Opera Zagreb (Nabucco), Grand Théâtre de Genève (Turandot) and many others.
The soprano has had the pleasure of performing with internationally renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Niksa Bareza, Tomás Netopil, Robert jindra, Friedrich Haider, Lorenzo Rizzi-Brignoli, Fabrizio Maria Carminati, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Davide Crescenzi and Antonio Fogliani.
She has collaborated with leading directors such as Dietrich Hilsdorf, Jens Daniel Herzog, Roland Schwab, Christine Mielitz, Robert Carsen, Henning Brockhaus, Giancarlo del Monaco, Anja Nicklich, Daniel Kramer, Andreas Beasler, Olivia Fuchs, Lotte Beer, David Raimondi and Immo Karaman.
Gabrielle graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of The Hague and continued her studies in Italy. She participated in several masterclassers, among others with Crisitna Deutekom and Montserrat Caballé.
