Gabrielle Mouhlen

“Another revelation was the Dutch soprano Gabriëlle Mouhlen, who has established herself as an Abigaille truly heir to the great singers who have played this rol of proverbial difficulty in the past”

Luca Chierici, | Nabucco, Milano 2021, conducted by Riccardo Muti

Due to her remarkable vocal range, her dark color, her temperament and easy high notes and coloraturas, Ms. Mouhlen sings a wide range of operatic roles. The soprano is not only highly appreciated for her secure vocal technique, but for her magnetic stage presence and acting skills as well.

Her key roles are Abigaille in Nabucco, Tosca, Aida, Turandot, Norma, Odabella in Attila, Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, Nedda in Pagliacci, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Manon Lescaut, The Foreign Princess in Rusalka and Minnie in La Fanciulla del West.

She has performed on international stages like the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam (Verdi Requiem), Auditorium De Doelen in Rotterdam (Nabucco),    L’Opéra de Nice Côte d’Azur (Gran Gala de Prestige), Grand Théâtre de Genève (Turandot), Opernhaus Dortmund (Nabucco), Aalto Musiktheater in Essen (Pagliacci, Otello, Nabucco, Aida, Tosca, Rusalka, Pique Dame), Theater Magdeburg (Otello), Theater Lübeck (Otello),  Theater Koblenz (Nabucco), Central Florida Opera (Turandot),  Teatro dal Verme Milano (Gran Gala di Capodanno), Teatro Marrucino di Chieti (Tosca), Teatro Sociale di Rovigo (Nabucco) Festival Luglio Trapanese (Turandot), Teatro Verdi di Trieste (Turandot, Lady Macbeth), Teatro del Giglio di Lucca (Puccini Days) and NdB National Opera Brno (Aida).

La Fanciulla del West

February 28, 2024 – March 4, 2024

Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc

Rijeka, Croatia

Role: Minnie (soprano)

Conductor: Valentin Egel

Stage director: Giorgio Surian

On 13-15 October Gabrielle performed succesfully as Lady McBeth in Verdi’s MacBeth.  This opera took place in Sassari, Italy.

A video of this performance came out recently and we are happy to share it. Loredana Atzei (I Teatro dell’Est) wrote the following about this performance.

“Her vocal characteristics such as power, solidity, agility, are enhanced by the role of Lady Macbeth to which she gives psychological depth through a confident use of pianissimo, a perfect descent into the low register, always perfectly intonated and musical centers and without sparing lashes of ‘steel in the high notes’ ”
